Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

CartGlow ("we", "our", "us") is a Shopify application that helps merchants track and recover abandoned shopping carts. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect data when you install and use our app.

2. Data We Collect

When a customer interacts with your store, CartGlow collects:

• Cart token (a Shopify-generated session identifier)
• Product information added to the cart (title, price, variant, quantity)
• Shopify customer ID (if the customer is logged in)
• Timestamps of cart events (added, abandoned, checkout, purchase)

We do not collect customer names, email addresses, physical addresses, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information beyond the Shopify customer ID.

3. How We Use Data

The collected data is used exclusively to:

• Detect abandoned carts based on your configured threshold
• Tag customers in your Shopify admin for email automation workflows
• Display analytics and reports within the CartGlow dashboard
• Track recovery performance when abandoned carts convert to purchases

4. Data Storage

Cart event data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. Active cart sessions are temporarily cached in Redis and automatically expire. All data is associated with your shop domain and is isolated from other merchants.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. Data is only accessible to you through your Shopify admin and the CartGlow app interface.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall CartGlow, your session data is removed. Upon receiving a shop erasure request from Shopify, all associated cart events and settings are permanently deleted.

7. GDPR Compliance

CartGlow supports Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• Customer data request: We report what data we hold for a given customer.
• Customer erasure: We remove all customer ID references from our records.
• Shop erasure: We delete all data associated with your shop.
